Los Stompers in concert

On 16th March at 15.45h the Irish Folk Group "Los Stompers" will play traditional Irish music in IES Sabadell. All the students from our secondary school, even sith level students from CEIP Andreu Castells and CEIP Can Rull, will enjoy their songs.

They want to sing these songs with us, so we recommend to read them before the play:

Cockles and Mussels (Molly Malone)

In Dublin's fair city, where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone
As she wheeled her wheel-barrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying cockles and mussels, alive, alive-O!
Alive, alive-O! alive, alive-O!
Crying cockles and mussels, alive, alive-O!

She was a fish-monger, but sure 'twas no wonder
For so were her father and mother before
And they each wheeled their barrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying cockles and mussels, alive, alive-O!
Alive, alive-O! alive, alive-O!
Crying cockles and mussels, alive, alive-O!

She died of a fever, and no one could save her
And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone
But her ghost wheels her barrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying cockles and mussels, alive, alive-O!
Alive, alive-O! alive, alive-O!
Crying cockles and mussels, alive, alive-O!

Dirty Old Town

I met my love, by the gasworks cry;
Dreamed a dream, by the old canal;
I kissed my girl, by the factory wall;
Dirty old town,
It’s a dirty old town.

Clouds are drifting all across the moon;
Cats are prowling all along their beat;
There springs a girl from the streets at night
Dirty old town,
It’s a dirty old town.

I heard a siren from across the docks;
Saw a train set the night on fire;
I smelled the spring on the smoky breeze;
Dirty old town,
It’s a dirty old town.

I'm gonna make me a good sharp axe;
Shining steel tempered in the fire;
I’ll chop you down, like an old oak tree;
Dirty old town,
It’s a dirty old town.

Dirty old town, it’s a dirty old town
